I want to share about this touching story. It is about a girl whose name is Laura Lang. This girl was born partly deaf and based on her mother named, Wanda Wilson, she became totally deaf when she reached Five years old.

Lang likes to paint. That is what she’s always doing given that it makes her feel happy seeing all her paintings. She usually likes to paint birds; all sorts of them like blue jays, cardinals, pheasants and much more. After painting, she’d laugh, smile and clap her hands; her mother knows her daughter is just happy that her painting looks beautiful.

Despite her disability, I can’t picture this girl still seems to maintain a positive attitude. However, do you believe Lang is not hearing anything? If you ask me, I know she’s really hearing something deep within her. I’m sure there’s someone whispering in her own mind and heart telling her that she’s a precious child and she deserve every wonderful things the world has to offer; she’s the same as every child you can see around you. I think that she is hearing the voice of God. I could feel it in her. I’m sure God exists, watching over her and giving her plenty of love and peace within her. She’s different with the other children out there because she feels contented. She actually is contented having her mother who is always there to aid her and God who is always there guiding her life.

Lang’s mother, Wanda, knows exactly what her daughter is wanting to say. She would appreciate her in every painting Lang is making. When she’s painting, people would ask, “What is she telling?” her mother would put a smile in her face and say, “She’s just happy with what she’s doing”

“Not only is Lang communicating through sign language, but also her painting shows her overall mood – she’s just plain ol’ happy. Lang is not able to hear the high-pitched tweets of a bird, but that does not make the detail in her paintings less powerful.”
“When God takes one sense from us, he gives us another,” her mother says.
“What do you think about being able to draw for people?” her mother signs.
After a couple of seconds, Lang’s mother sighs, smiles and translates.
“She just thank God that she can,” Lang’s mother translates.

Laura lang is an example of a person who is just thankful for the gift of life; regardless the disability that she has, she was able to experience hearing the voice of God. She gave us lesson to become thankful and contented of the things we have in life and just live happily and peacefully.
